These crystals create a striking contrast between the delicacy of the fossil and the brilliance of the crystals. The Mibladen mines, famous for offering the best vanadinite specimens in the world, produce in abundance. Yet, among the countless pieces extracted over the decades, a fossil decorated with vanadinites of this quality remains an unprecedented discovery. So far, only a few thin fragments of marine fossils have been found, filled with tiny vanadinite druses, often microscopic in size. Here, the fossilized snail that houses these red crystals is not only complete, but beautifully preserved. Even in a collection rich in vanadinites, this specimen is distinguished by its singular character.
